Same issue here, heal sig is echoy too, keeps repeating in the same area.

Although the sound does sound alot clearer when hitting enemys, i think this is a poor update because of the issues.

I turned sound quality all the way up and everything sounded great to me. I was too busy fighting to pay attention to positional audio, whether softer if zoomed out, etc. I'll check it out next time I log in.

Also, I've disabled DirectSong...I'll reenable it and see if the audio messes up.

This is getting really annoying. Better to play with no sound than this mess atm.

First of all, I very rarely play with any sound at all, only turning on sound and music when playing PvP (and I need sound for voice comm). Since the patch, I've played about an hour and haven't had any problems and have in fact noticed the increased sound quality with the slider all the way up. However, it's also worthy to note that I'm using very nice audio equipment (Sennheiser HD280 Pros and an Audigy2 ZS sound card).

How do we keep up the pressure on Arenanet?

TBH I have this horrible feeling of being one person against a faceless company.

The only way I can punish them is not to buy Factions, and I swear I won't until they give me back my music and camera-positioned sound.

Unfortunately the fan boys will have final say in this

I decided to pay a visit to ol' Grenth's Footprint today...the SF soundtrack is extremely immersive, and it really annoyed me how it only played one track.

...maybe a GWGuru rebellion like that of the Monk Strike? If memory serves, Gaile attended that...perhaps a rebellion in LA so the Frog can hear us. :P

Default I Fixed the sound issue!

I fixed the sound issue guys!!! You have to go to the volume panel on windows, click advanced under speaker settings, then click performance, then adjust the HARDWARE ACCELERATION LEVEL. I turned mine down one notch from full acceleration and my sound is back to normal!

Don't have a cow. BE PATIENT! I'm pretty sure that Anet knows about the issue since you are DEFINITELY the only one having problems.

Anet is rarely the company to ignore customers when a genuine hardware problem occurs unlike others....Sony I'm looking at you...

Had you lost music and did this restore it?

Did this move positional audio back to the camera rather than the character?

By the way, I can't find this Hardware Acceleration slider anywhere under volume control?

I wonder whether it's the same as moving the Hardware Acceleration slider in DxDiag, which achieves nothing on my PC.

Go to your control panel and switch to classic view (if you're running Windows XP) - then go to Sounds and Audio devices. Open it, and there should be a button which says Advanced. Open that - then switch to the performance tab.

But I tried this and it too, didn't work. -_-

Hi,

I thought I was the only one who had this audio problem.

Yep, it is annoying as hell. I can usually hear the background / ambient music just fine but things like spell casting, attacking and such just doesn't work. I even have problems sometimes hearing the Ping for Targetting in Random Arenas.

Please ANet fix this!

Default Sound Problem

I have the same problem I think. I was going to re-install the game, but I don't think I will since everyone else is having this problem

Same monk sound problems, echoing when casting healing breeze soemtimes.
I don't hear nightmares pop up in the UW
My necro doesn't get the Awaken the Blood sound, and echo sound even

and also, sometimes I don't get the salvage "swishy" sound.

This is annoying.

I had a problem with not hearing any sound effects at all when I first logged in yesterday but it was better about 10 minutes later. I did sometimes hear a slight looping sound of some skill when I was out in the desert. Sounded like healing signet was continuously casting. The sound was very low and went away when I moved away from that spot.

But it all seems better as of now for me.

Just wanted to add that it seemed to improve as the game went on. When I first logged in I heard no sound effects at all, then as time went on I started hearing a few more until eventualy I heard them all.

Everytime I start GW I hear a high sound, it's hard to explain, but it really hurts my ears, esspecially with headphones.

I have a sound problem with called targets. Sometimes it works fine other times I hear nothing. While I know it spams in chat, I like to hear the called when next target is chosen.

I too have all of the problems and have tried solution after solution...

It would be nice to get some sort of Arena Net Acknowledgement in here, as they do in other threads.

NC Soft and all of its' subs have never been known to actually provide information anyways...I mean look at the Factions PreOrder CD. Never does it mention instructions for current GW owners on how to install these 'pre-order' items... I figured it out by fishing around and almost screwing up a ton of stuff.

Anyways, I digress...awesome game, love it love it love it, but take one of those 'love it's away now as the sound is atrocious!

So are we to assume that to Re - Install guild wars because of some of the sound problems is incorrect?
